1) Make sure you have registered your domain name. We recommend GoDaddy and we recommend that you register your own name so that you always retain control.

2) Sign up for hosting. We work with several compatible hosts, they all use the same Content Management System and cart. If you would like to keep your current site up while we work on your new site, please do not have the new host change your nameservers, we will take care of that after your design is done. As soon as your hosting account is setup you can begin working in your store admin. You do not have to wait for your template installation.

**Some hosts will automatically sign you up for a mals account. This account works in conjunction with your store to process your orders. If your hosting does not send you mals login information along with your new site information, then you should sign up for an account at http://mals-e.com. You need a premium account if you have a credit card processor and will accept credit cards directly on your site, otherwise you can sign up for the free account. You can begin configuring mals (this is where shipping, tax and payment options are configured) as soon as you open the account. All hosts have sections in their knowledgebase on setting up mals - but please let us know if you have any questions. If you need a credit card processor, we use and recommend authorize.net through e-onlinedata.
3) *OPTIONAL If you plan on keeping a mailing list we recommend you sign up for a mailing list service and begin configuring it so we can add it to your site. We use and highly recommend Constant Contact. This will allow you to automatically collect signups and send out newsletters easily.
